Victorians Secret Angels are selected supermodels for the companyââ¬â¢s campaigns. All angels are extremely beautiful and fit a mannequin size 36. In November 2014, in GLAMOUR magazine showed that Victorians Secret munched the newest bra campaign ââ¬Å"Body by Victoria Secretâ⬠the advertising picture has 10 of the most beautiful Angels models, including models with blonde, brunette and black hair. All Angels are using the new collection of lingerie with possession, confidence and sexy poses. The slogan in the picture is the ââ¬Å"Perfect Body. Perfect Fit. Perfect Comfort. Perfectly SOFT. â⬠In addiction at the end has ââ¬Å"Explore the Collectionâ⬠followed with the names of the new ten types of bras. GLAMOUR is a womenââ¬â¢s magazine focusing on fashion, beauty, relationship, sex, lifestyle and services. The magazine targets women teen the ages of 18 and 40, both single and married. These women may be at any stage of their lives, such as going to college, working in jobs full time or part time, caring for a family. Health and fitness, in search of beauty and well-being are also involved. The target audience is women who are focused itself, and on the world, blobs and internet. These tend to speak of the hottest issues and show all the new trends emerging for the female consumer. The primary ads are new patterns and fashions that come soon. The Perfect Body is a new line of bra Victorians Secret afford to its customers in a huge variety: Rasa and push-up, perfect shape, new perfect comfort deem push up, and others. The variety that most consumers appreciate is the opportunity to choose the best type of bras that fit them. Another purpose of this campaign is that with new bras Victorians Secret you get ââ¬Å"The Perfect Bodyââ¬â¢, Perfect Fit, perfect Comfort and Perfectly Soft. â⬠In reality does everything come together with just a bra? How not to buy? The advertisement for this seems a little be promising with all this perfection in just a bra, we can see clearly the marketing game in the advertisement. The word ââ¬Å"perfectâ⬠is ones of racketing games that misleads consumers, and make them purchase the product in search of the perfect. Because consumers are always seeking the best and perfect, and this propaganda ends up attracting them. For example, this new collection of the bra names is the ââ¬Å"PERFECT SHAPEâ⬠; can you have the perfect shape with this new bra? Does ââ¬Å"perfectâ⬠by Victorians Secret is perfect? It is one of the facts that everyone would have to examine in advertisements. Another word used in advertising is ââ¬Å"NEW. â⬠Why does everyone want what is new? Just because it is new, is it means better? We now that many times what is new is not better than old, but we live in a consumerââ¬â¢s world. We just want what is new, just to keep with the developments and commercial growth. Another type of marketing used to attract consumers are the BEA dutiful models that are confirming the proposal of the campaign. All of them are posing and showing confidence, resourcefulness, and are still being sexy and powerful with panties and bras. What looks interesting in the first time, but which captures the majority of consumers. Who does not Want to feel confident and powerful using only panties and bra? I think that everyone wants to feel good wearing only panties and bras because it is virtually impossible. That is what the companies like Victorians Secret presents and convinces consumers, using in advertising to reach consumers and have succeed in their new collections. Victorians Secret does not just sell lingerie and beauty products it sells sensuality set, power and the femaleââ¬â¢s fabulous side. In the new campaign ââ¬Å"Body by Victorians Secretsâ⬠, 10 angels are positioned as a front line ready for battle, as an army battalion ready to fight. However, battle in this direction is different; he battle is against the consumer. They are showing that this is the body of Victorians Secretes, perfect and ready. When you look yourself and see the new collection and the Angels, you already feel lost and out Of context, and see the need for the new product. This is how propaganda ââ¬Å"Body by Victorians Secretâ⬠appeal to the emotional side of marketing, showing that with the new products you can purchase the ââ¬Å"Perfect Body. â⬠Another way that advertising eludes the side emotionally are the features that the models are shown. The Angels are pictured are sexy, confident, uninhibited and happy. Something that appeals to the popular side, people living standards indicated by the media, and to see an advertisement like this in GLAMOUR magazine very consumers believe this is the key to all problems. Furthermore, these advertisements often end up backfiring on a population. Advertisements as this ââ¬Å"The Perfect Bodyâ⬠causes many consumers to rebel by not fit the pattern that company shows. Victorians Secret shows a variety of ethnicity in the photo templates, but has not done the same in the body shapes. This makes many consumers give up the product and even the company. The emotional did ââ¬ËBody by Victorians Secretâ⬠can take depends on the consumer, and the success of this new collection can be committed only for fit in Angelsââ¬â¢ size by Victorians Secret. Victorians Secret Angels use their campaigns to attract attention and consumers. The Angels of Victorians Secret are the top models in the fashion world, as Giggles Bunched, the Brazilian model that is one of the top on the fashion world and well paid, was an Angel. The benefit and aim to have them as Angels is very marketing. Because having the best models in the world fashion wearing Victorians Secrets products, not only attracts nonusers, but also magazines, reports and all media. It is a fact that some consumers will only purchase the products Victorians Secret, because they are the top models in the fashion world. In addition, many news companies will only show advertisements for having the hottest Angels. Victorians Secret is a company that sells dreams and achievements, where the products promise to transform the buyer on being sexy, fabulous, charming and perfect. One of the companies is liable to generalize, by imposing a standard of beauty. The advertisement ââ¬Å"Body by Victorians Secretâ⬠with the slogan ââ¬Å"The Perfect Bodyâ⬠s one of the advertisements that would never come through the media. I wonder what the company Victorians Secret wins to continue with advertisements and campaigns that link to a ââ¬Å"perfect modelâ⬠. Of course it has its consumers ââ¬Å"perfect modelâ⬠, which still make a profit. In a developing world in which we live, we must take action against companies imply that standard, a standard that does not involve half the worldââ¬â¢s population. We all should stop dreaming about the promises that Victorians Secrets presents. Each has its life; each has its shape, size, color, and so on. Everything is different; we deed to have something perfect to follow? Who said that the perfect is The Perfect by Victorians Secret? How to cite Be human or victorias secret, Papers

Macbeth Contradiction In The Essay Example For Students
Macbeth Contradiction In The Essay It has often been said that Macbeth is a character of powerful contradictions. He is evil and all-powerful. Are his violent acts and his criminal activities simply the result of Macbeths ambition to be King of Scotland? Why is he willing to kill his king and his best friend with apparently no remorse? Are his acts the result of blind ambition? No, Macbeth is the target of manipulation. He is not the manipulator, but instead is manipulated by different people and different forces. Macbeth encounters his first group of manipulators in the form of witches. The witches prophesize that Macbeth will one day be King of Scotland and that the descendents of Banquo will become kings. Having shared this prophecy with Lady Macbeth, the goal of being king becomes very enticing. Macbeths first act of evil is the killing of Duncan. Before the murder, Macbeth tries to tell Lady Macbeth that he will not go through with it. She has to goad him into killing the King. After committing the murder, Macbeth seems almost delirious. He says that all great Neptunes ocean will not wash this blood clean from my hand(Act II, Scene ii, lines 60-61). When he murders Banquo, Macbeth is still in torment, but the cause of his anguish seems to have changed. He is afraid of Banquo, because Banquo knows about the witches and because the witches predicted that his descendents would be kings. Banquos death, he says will put his mind at rest. As the play goes on, there is a fundamental change in Macbeths character. Due to the manipulation of others, Macbeth has lost all sense of morality and right and wrong. The craving for power and obtaining more control consumes Macbeth. Macbeth orders the murder of Macduffs wife and children. Their killings gain him nothing. He has good reason to fear Macduff, but slaughtering his enemys family is pointless. Macbeth wants to spite Macduff. He kills Macduffs family to maintain control and power. Despite the witches new prophecies, Macbeth is paranoid of losing the crown. Since he cannot get at Macduff directly, he lets loose this senseless violence. As the target of manipulation Macbeth strikes out at random, and his moral sense seems to have entirely disappeared. The brave hero we met in Act I who at least seemed honorable, is completely twisted. Macbeths crimes have cost him dearly. His reaction to Lady Macbeths death is a sign of complete despair -all feeling is dead in him. Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow (Act V, Scene v, lines 17-28) is less an expression of grief than it is a speech about the utter meaninglessness of life. Macbeths ambitions are now stronger than his conscience. The witches have tempted and controlled him with the idea of becoming king. Lady Macbeth manipulates him to overcome his natural hesitation to commit murder. Due to his manipulation, Macbeth chooses the crown over his honor and material gain in this world over salvation in the next world. Once he has killed to get the crown, the other crimes seem inevitable. In order to keep what he has taken, Macbeth learns to lie and kill as a matter of course. His values become totally confused. Fair is foul, and foul is fair to him now; he has lost track of the difference. By the end of the play, manipulation by others has completely consumed Macbeth. Once Macbeth kills Duncan, he is committed to a course of lying and killing. His sense of right and wrong is eaten away. Even before Macbeth is killed, he is dying of a diseased spirit. Scotland is also infected, and Macbeth is its disease. .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 , .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 .postImageUrl , .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 , .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0:hover , .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0:visited , .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0:active { border:0!important; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0:active , .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0 .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ub4c78763c581f9e4b70a3c11cb95bcf0:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Computer Network Security Alternatives Essay Macbeth is a prime example of the corruption of power, and how absolute power corrupts absolutely. Saying Could in Spanish Using Poder and Other Verbs
Saying Could in Spanish Using Poder and Other Verbs Although the English auxiliary verb could is typically thought of as the past tense of the verb can, it shouldnt always be translated to Spanish as a past tense of poder. Could usually can be translated as a form of poder (a verb typically meaning to be able), however. Following are some of the common ways that could is used in English and various ways the idea can be expressed in Spanish. Translating Could When It Means Was Able or Were Able Usually, you can use the preterite tense of poder if youre talking about a one-time event or a specific period in time, but the imperfect tense should be used if youre talking about an indefinite period. The miner couldnt leave the tunnel. El minero no pudo salir del tà ºnel. (The sentence refers to an ability that existed at a particular and limited time, so the preterite is used.)I couldnt leave the city more than once a year. Yo no podà a salir de la ciudad ms que una vez por aà ±o. (The sentence refers to a ability that existed over an indefiite time, so the imperfect is used.)We could always count on him for advice. Siempre podà amos contar con à ©l para sugerencias. After five hours I could finally do it. Despuà ©s de cinco horas por fin pude hacerlo.I thought I could do it better. Pensà © que yo podà a hacerlo mejor.Couldnt you see the solar eclipse? à ¿No pudiste ver el eclipse solar? Although the distinction isnt always a clear one, if by saying was able or were able you mean knew how to, the verb saber is often preferable, usually in the imperfect tense: Obviously, he thought I could drive. Obviamente, à ©l creà a que yo sabà a manejar. We could make fantastic sand castles. Sabà amos construir fantsticos castillos de arena. Translating Could as a Suggestion or Request In English we often use could as a substitute for can in order to be polite or to soften the tone of what were saying. You can do much the same thing in Spanish by using the conditional tense of poder, although often the present tense works just as well. For example, to say, You could come with me to fish for trout, you could say either Puedes ir conmigo a pescar truchas or Podrà as ir conmigo a pescar truchas. Translating Expressions Such as If I Could Expressions such as if I could usually use the imperfect subjunctive: If I could turn back time, I wouldnt have answered the telephone. Si yo pudiera regresar el tiempo, no habrà a contestado el telà ©fono. If he could eat cake instead of vegetables he would be very happy. Si à ©l pudiera comer el postre en vez de vegetales à ©l serà a muy feliz. If we could see it, we would buy it. Si pudià ©ramos verlo, lo comprarà amos. Discussing What Could Have Been A common way of saying that something could have been, but wasnt, is to use the preterite of poder followed by haber. If something might have occurred over an indefinite time, the imperfect might also be used. It could have been worse. Pudo haber sido peor. The team could have been much more aggressive. El equipo pudo haber sido mucho ms agresivo. With more time, we could have eliminated more of the mistakes. Con ms tiempo, pudià ©ramos haber eliminado algunos ms de los errores. They could have saved my son. Podà an haber a mi hijo. Translating Could in Expressions of Possibility Various expressions of possibility can often be used to translate could when it means that something is possible. Often the present tense of poder can be used as well. One way to translate sentences using could in that way is to think of an alternative way of expressing the idea in English, and then translating to Spanish. The following translations arent the only ones possible: They could be the same person. Es posible que sean las mismas personas. (Literally, it is possible that they are the same persons.)It could be my imagination. Posiblemente sea mi imaginacià ³n. (Literally, it is possible that it is my imagination.)I could leave now. Ahora puedo salir. (Literally, I can leave now.)If we want to, we could take a walk through the city. Si queremos, podemos dar un paseo por la ciudad. (Literally, if we want to, we can take a walk through the city.)

Literary Analysis Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Literary Analysis - Research Paper Example The idea of the bug that Gregor Samsa becomes is intended to be loathsome, toxic, and unpleasant; something avoided by humans. This concept is essential to interpreting any of Kafkaââ¬â¢s work. Kafkaââ¬â¢s storytelling is characterized by pessimism, dark humor, and a keen wit. It exposes his underlying cynicism shaped by a life of exploitation, misery and injustice. Within this story, Kafka uses Gregor as a symbol and a means by which he could explore his own difficult relationship with his father as well as his sense of alienation from society. Gregor's metamorphosis causes him to be treated as something less than human, a feeling Kafka felt deeply as evidenced in its appearance in many of his other writings. Through Gregor's metamorphosis, Kafka is able to express the pain of his personal existence, allowing Gregor to reveal Kafka's social situation and embody the author's sense of social, religious, and philosophical alienation. There are too many biographical similarities b etween the fictional Gregor Samsa and the real Franz Kafka to deny the link and the probability that Gregor's impressions are closely aligned with those of his author. At the beginning of the story, Gregor is painted as the good son. He is a simple man, hardworking employee, and is highly self-sacrificing as he struggles to both support his family and pay off his parents' debts. He does all this without complaint even though he is afforded little consideration or appreciation from the family he is attempting to help. This image of Gregor's home life is very similar to what is known of Kafka's home life, particularly as it relates to the relationship between Kafka/Gregor and their respective fathers. Kafka's father, Herman, was a businessman who had little understanding or patience for a son that would not follow in his capable footsteps (Brod, 1976). After hearing his shortcomings recited to him over the course of years, Kafka felt reviled and unwanted, like vermin. This is confirme d in his unpublished ââ¬Å"Letter to His Fatherâ⬠, in which he even refers to himself as ââ¬Å"Ungezieferâ⬠(Kafka, 2009); that is, as vermin (Brod, 43). Other evidence of Kafka's sense of intimidation by his father is the fact that he developed a stammer that became so severe in his father's presence that he could hardly communicate. This issue created yet greater alienation between Kafka and the remainder of his family, leading to a situation in which he wrote in his diary, they had become ââ¬Å"all strangers to me, we are related only by bloodâ⬠(Brod, 229). A later diary entry confessed Kafka's final analysis of this destructive relationship, writing that his father had "inevitably broken my spirit" (Brod, 231). Many of these sentiments can be found in the relationship between Gregor and his father in the story. Understanding Kafka's history makes it easy to trace how Gregorââ¬â¢s transformation reflects Kafkaââ¬â¢s intense feelings of isolation and vulne rability as well as his frustration in not being able to protect himself or his emotions with any sort of ââ¬Ëarmorââ¬â¢, especially when dealing with his father. Gregor's father is immediately introduced as impatient, demanding, possessing a violent temper. When it is discovered Gregor is still at home at 6:45 in the morning, his father begins pounding on Gregor's door with his fist and turns away Gregor's breakfast. Every time Mr. Samsa enters the scene, it is with reference to violence. Upon the first appearance of Gregor before the rest of

Social-Reinforcement Field Observation using CBAS CODING SHEET Coursework
Social-Reinforcement Field Observation using CBAS CODING SHEET - Coursework Example The instructor did not give any specific negative reinforcement either. However, on six instances, the instructor gave general positive reinforcements, during which the observer encouraged generally desirable behavior from the participants. Again there were no instances of general negative reinforcements. On two occasions, the instructor provided specific technical instructions to individual members. The instructor also provided a total of 34 general technical instructions to the class, representing 74% of the instructorââ¬â¢s total actions during the session. At no point during the observed session did the instructor act to correct undesirable behavior or breach of discipline among the members, as described in the CBAS coding sheet as keeping control. The instructor acted to organize the participants four times during the session by giving instructions relating to their positioning or organization of the class area. Therefore, the most frequently observed behavior was general technical instructions. This is as would be expected from a gym class, where the participants are only required to follow the instructions of the instructor. Conversely, the least observed behavior was specific reinforcement, both positive and negative, and also general negative reinforcement. The lack of general negative reinforcement is because the success of the gym class relies on the enthusiastic contribution of the participants, and therefore the instructor would not be required to highlight or punish undesirable behavior of the whole group, as this could easily demotivate the group. The ratio of positive to negative reinforcements was zero, since there were neither positive nor negative reinforcements during the session. However, the ratio of specific technical reinforcements to general technical reinforcements was 2:34, suggesting that the instructor paid much more attention to the activities of
